Biography

Thanks to a sensitive, musically educated nursery school teacher, Roman Borisov was introduced to his teacher Mary Lebenzon at age four at the Novosibirsk Conservatory. He worked with her until 2020. After winning first prize at the Krainev Youth Competition 2019 and performing numerous concerts in the 2019/20 season, including in Hamburg, Berlin, at the Piano Festival Ruhr, and at the Gstaad Festival, he decided to move to Berlin after finishing his secondary education. In 2022, he was admitted to the clas of Eldar Nebolsin at the Hanns Eisler conservatory. In September 2022, the Orpheum Foundation Zurich invited him to record Mozart’s Piano Concertos KV 413 and KV 415 with the ORF Symphony Orchestras conducted by Howard Griffith as part of a complete recording of Mozart’s piano concertos on the Alpha label. A month later, as its youngest participant, Roman won First Prize at the Kissinger KlavierOlymp. He took part in the Verbier Festival Academy for the first time in 2019, when he was named a co-recipient of the Tabor Foundation Award for piano.
